Cheung Chau Island

We had a great day on this island which we really enjoyed with all the local shops and the buzz of the little fishing village.  We took the fast ferry there and came home on the slow ferry which took nearly an hour.  This was good which meant we could relax and enjoy the leisurely ride.  It was pretty hot and we had expected to swim thinking that was all there was to do out there.  Not so.  It was such an interesting little village with lots of shops and many homes as well. We spent lots of time walking through the tiny alley ways checking out the diifferent little local wares.
We came across people building stall spires and loading them with bread buns.  This week is the bun festival where there are competitions to climb to the top and grab as many buns as you can. There were quite  few spires around and near the temple.  We passed many bakeries who were baking these buns and many people were buying them as well.
Marie's chauffeur, Raul took us to the ferry in the morning and picked us up again  once we returned to the wharf.  We were really spoilt.
At the end of our stay Raul took us to the airport at 5 am.
Marie emailed us the next day to say she found Warren's camera left in the car so will post it on to Ireland.!!!
